Broadcast Standards
- Avoid "dead air". Refrain from typing while broadcasting while doing voice-over, and refrain from using speech patterns such as "umm" and "ahh" constantly, as it distracting from your message, and makes the monologue difficult or even impossible to follow, or even to stay interested in. Conversation should be lively and well-modulated. If necessary, music can be used to fill in while working out certain types of technical issues, or while chatting with channel participants.
- Respect your listeners. See the above rules of conduct regarding racial, religious, ethnic or sexual slurs/innuendoes.
- We are here for them and ourselves. If someone doesn't like the music they can mute it and tell them you will let them know when the song is over. Politeness and professionalism are expected at all times.
- Promote the next scheduled show by broadcasting the time, location, and DJ host of the next PPCR airing, in order to encourage listeners to join in.
- Do not make any form of disrespectful statement about other stations on PaganPaths. That is not our purpose, and works directly in opposition to what this station stands for.
- Stay in the Channel. Any DJ currently broadcasting is expected to stay in the channel designated for that broadcast, without straying into another channel designated for another station, as this presents a conflict of interest, and may cause a performance drop during broadcast. Issues not related directly to the broadcast and technical difficulties therein, should be looked after before or after the broadcast commences/finishes.

What to do if...
- You find out ahead of time you cannot do one of your scheduled shows
- Send mail to the DJ list stating the show time/day and why. A replacement will be sought.
- Failing this, send an email to ppcrlisteners@paganpaths.org, so listeners may be informed of scheduling changes.
- You're covering for another DJ
Every 30 minutes or so when you identify yourself, let listeners know that you are doing an impromptu replacement show for the missing DJ, and tell them why he cannot make it, assuring them that the DJ will return for his/her next scheduled show.
- Hostile room takeover
- Locate a PPCR board member, as they will have founder access to the channel.
- Let folks know that "we are experiencing slight technical difficulties in channel"
- If you cannot locate a PPCR board member, contact a PaganPaths Admin (#help is a good place to find PaganPaths admins), they can take care of it.
- Failing successful recapture of control, direct listeners to #paganpaths channel. It is run by the admins and only admins have ops.
- A DJ starts to break the rules
Take action pursuant to the regulations set out in the PaganPaths CyberRadio Rules and Regulations.
- Voicing
Some stations voice the listeners (+v). We do not, since it is a non-functional status on a cyberradio station, and therefore a waste of time, and a disrupts the DJ from doing what he/she is there for: broadcasting.
