Tom drove the car down to the wet weather stream, which is dry now, mostly
dry since the farm up the way filled in the place where the rain water collected
on the other side of the road. Tom brought a mattock to pry rocks up with
and we collected a load of large and medium size rocks for the path. We meandered
down the stream bed looking for likely sized ones. He would pry at them to
see if they would come out of the ground easily and to determine the size.
Any that seemed to want to stay there by virtue of being more difficult to
get out we left alone and went on to the next. I carried the ones to the car
that I could manage and he did the heavier ones. When we got a ways down the
stream so that we were carrying them back too far I drove the car up to another
place near us that was not too much of a steep grade for us to climb while
loaded with rocks. We brought them home and loaded up the wheelbarrow to cart
them over to the head of the path. We also wandered around a bit near the
house looking for more and found 4 good size ones but were too pooped to move
them past the driveway.
