Work-a-Day Sunday

Sunday December 5, 2004

I woke up at 5 am to lamplight and the sound of clicking in the bedroom. Faol was up at the keyboard, trying to get an airline ticket to visit Toledo for Yule. He had slept an hour then woke up feeling he should get it done, right then. He was frustrated because he got kicked over to a different screen several times while he was trying to sign up for their frequent flyer miles, which knocks everything he had already typed out. So he says to me that I sound like I am awake now so can I do it for him. Sigh…

I climbed out of my warm bed, put on the robe so I wouldn’t be too cold. He snuggled down into the place I had vacated and commented on how nice it was so warm from my body heat. I filled out the form and hit a backspace when I needed to use the drop down box and it shifted to another page. The second try was successful though. So I got to go back to bed. He commented that he had kept my place warm for me then he finished getting the tickets. He came to bed and I finally got back to sleep.

When I woke for the day I took care of getting tea and my breakfast drink, checked email, etc. then went to wake him so he could get ready for the Eye. I asked him if he wanted a bath. Yes. So I started the bath water running. Then I went back up again and asked him if he wanted oatmeal (his usual breakfast) and how he wanted it, salt and pepper or maple syrup and cinnamon. Yes. So I went back down and started that. I heard him come down, shut off the water, and get ready for his bath. I brought him his tea, finished making his oatmeal, and asked him if he wanted me to read to him. Yes. I went and got the book we are reading to each other and read to him.

He got out in plenty of time to get ready and go on time but wanted me to continue reading so I did. We also ended up having some discussion, some touching and kissing, and he was late anyway.

When he left I got busy and scrubbed the bathtub, after calling Tom. He wasn’t home! I told him yesterday when I would call him today and he wasn’t available! Hmph…. The tub is much better now but could still use more work. It took quite a bit of work to get it this far. When I was done I got a stool and put my towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, exfoliating facial scrub, and phone on it. I called Tom back and he was at the mailbox but said he would call me in a few minutes when he got home. Yay! So I got to take my long hot bath while talking with him. I like to tease him a bit by talking about how the hot water feels on my skin, surrounding my body, etc. :)

Faol called from work to ask me if he had left his wallet here but I wasn’t in a place to check it out right then and he told me not to worry about it. I had barely gotten dressed when he showed up. Since I was just saying goodbye to Tom I got off the phone. He was glad that I was dressed because his boss had driven him back to get his wallet and he went out and invited her in. I went upstairs where he had been when he ordered his ticket, and sure enough there was his wallet. They invited me out to eat with them so we went out to the Thai restaurant around the corner, the Bangkok Restaurant. We ordered a veritable feast: Pineapple rice no meat, spicy eggplant, a rich dark brown rice with peanut sauce, shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer, and the wonderful coconut spicy soup. Yummy! Afterwards I went back to the Eye with them to get his car because by the time we were all done eating it was the end of his shift.
