My meditation didn’t go as well today but considering how many times I caught myself drifting into daydreaming or planning or thinking about something I feel like I was more aware so that I didn’t go off for too long before recognizing it and bringing my mind back to the breathing. I consider that to be progress. And I finished bring the Sweetwood finances up to date completely, created the last quarter’s report and emailed it to the BoD members! Last night I finished the membership update and emailed the overdue payment notices although three were up the end of 2004 I want to wait until after the 15th to send those out as I want to give them time to do it on their own :)
Faol called a bit later than usual so that I had already done half the things I can do while we talk. He was cleaning the house for his lunch date. I wish he would do that before I come out there (grin) but since I am going out in about 10 days it will still be much cleaner than usual. I can multi-task but some things take more attention than others so when Cinnamon called to confirm his flight time as he is going to San Francisco for the weekend he took that call. It worked out well for me as I was ready to begin working on drawing my labyrinth. As we laid out the doubled up tarp in the bedroom we discovered that even with the mattress moved out of the way there wasn’t 10’ by 10’. We ended up moving the dining room table into the kitchen, moving my exercycle out of the way, and laying it out there. After cutting the tarp in two we were ready to begin.
As it turns out we goofed. I was under the impression that the seed pattern was in the center from left to right of the labyrinth. It is actually half a path off center. Ah well. Tom helped me measure and mark out path by path. In order to avoid rubbing the marker off the tarp we marked out one path after the seed pattern. He would go back to work and I would kneel down and slowly lay out the electrical tape curving it as I went. Move over, smooth out the tarp, plant knees to hold it taut, stick the tape down, repeat from one point to the next. Then Tom would come back and help me measure the next. Faol called back early in the process and we talked a while. His date had been postponed until after work because she had some kind of emergency at work or something.
When I got off I remarked to Tom that I was never going to understand Faol. His plans were spend a couple of hours with his date after 11 pm when he gets home, finish packing, and take off for the airport around 4:30 am, fly to SF, sleep in the car during drive to where he is staying, spend time with Cinnamon, go to a Sacred Connections event, leave that early to go into SF to go to a club to meet someone she wants him to meet, leave there to go to another club that she wants to show him, drive back to her place to spend more time with her, get up to visit with another friend the next day. Anyway something like that. I am wondering where the sleeping time is in his schedule or how he expects to be in any condition for the sex he is expecting to have. Tom said think 25 yrs old and sex.
We got back to work and I kept laying out the paths. I got involved in it and when the phone rang I said, it couldn’t be Faol again because he was asleep. Wrong. It turned out that his rental unit had plumbing problems, the sewer backed up so he had to take a vacation day and go deal with it. The end result though meant that he might be able to reschedule his date for an earlier time and get some sleep before he flys out. Funny how things work out.
I missed my second exercise session today because of doing the labyrinth
but it turned out to be a bit of a work out for my knees. They are sore now
from all the folding, and kneeling on them, and getting up and down, up and
down, stretching to reach. So I guess I did get some exercise after all. It
is looking pretty good though and I plan on putting a picture up of it when
I am done.
