We decided that love-making came before snow moving. It was afternoon before we got down to the work. I went out and spent about 45 min. shoveling snow off the new entry path including digging out the pathlights. While I was doing this the neighbors dog, Humphrey, joined me. He has one of those electronic fences around his home but when he gets very excited by a rabbit or whatever he just takes off and gets past the shocking part so quickly that he is out and on the other side. Of course he can’t get back without having the “fence” shut off. So instead he came to help me out :) I also shoveled out the path to the birdfeeder, a path to the hot tub, and a path from the garbage cans to the driveway.
While I was doing that Tom was working on getting the tractor and blade ready to plow. With the ice under the snow he was really worried about being able to plow at all so he tried two car tire chains held together on one of the tractor tires. Then he used the tools that Faol gave him recently to attach chain to the blade to keep it at an angle for plowing. And luckily he was able to clear a path in the driveway. It isn’t clean and neat, or very wide but we can get in and out of it. Even more luckily when the chain let go and the blade swung out of the position it was being held in, it didn’t take the back tire out.
I was amazed that I was able to do as much shoveling as I did. While I thought
that the exercises were not having results yet I don’t think I could
have done this much shoveling just a couple of months ago. And when I weighed
myself today I had lost a pound. Yay!!! I am, of course, assuming now that
I will keep that pound off and that it isn’t just the usual up and down
of water weight. And if I am wrong about that I don’t care for the moment.
It is encouraging anyway.
