We Start Walking

Monday January 31, 2005

I got up and took a hot bath while Faol was still asleep. I thought I would get done before he got up but was still in the tub when he did. He went back upstairs and called Joyful so I got out and started a bath for him. I reheated his tea and set it in the bathroom next to the tub. Then I called Tom on my cell phone and talked with him. I went upstairs and asked Faol what he wanted for breakfast. It was kind of funny each of us on our respective phones talking to our other loves. I heard him tell Joyful that I was cute with the headphones on while working. I puttered about for a bit then went upstairs into the inspiration room while he bathed, and I talked with Tom. Faol was still on the phone when I got off so I did some email then he got off saying he wanted to spend the rest of the time before work with me. Yay!

We drove over to Echo Park, about 5-10 min. from the house. I have been wanting to do more walking with Faol and had suggested Echo Park, and today that is what we did. I had really thought about starting with a 20 min. walk but Faol wanted to walk around the lake 3 times. It turned out to take just under an hour and I had to slow the pace on the last round as we had been walking all that time at Faol’s pace. His normal stride is about twice mine so with him walking just a bit faster than usual it made for a good workout for me. I had read the first 10 pages or so of Well of Light by R.J. Stewart so much of our walk was accompanied by a discussion of Elementals and the analogy of laboratory and scientist as equivalent to magicians and circle. It felt very good to have that time with him to focus on ideas and magick as well as exercise. I hope we can do that three times a week anyway. When we got home Faol called Raven and I changed laundry loads, got his juice, dinner, and vitamins ready for him, then did some things on the computer. His conversation took long enough that he had to quickly take a shower and dash out.

After he left I called Joyful and we had a nice conversation while I organized Faol’s receipts. Then I did my regular exercises including exercycle. I wasn’t sure that I was going to as I had been tired when we got back but after a couple hour break I was fine and ready to continue. I read more of the Well of Light while I was on the excercycle. I am planning on going through it and using it for a training system. It looks interesting. It is set up so one can do it as a 9 week or 9 month system. I figure 9 weeks is good for a start and then if it seems to work for me I can go more deeply into it and do the 9 month version. But I need to work with something that gives me direction.
