The Day After the Fast

Thursday February 24, 2005

I broke my fast during my full moon ritual last night. Another reason to be glad I am home is that I can walk my labyrinth – the portable one I built after inspiration from my last fasting cycle. I think this time I will be making my mala to use as a meditation tool with chanting. Right now I am thinking of making it from 4 strands of yarn using knots in place of beads. It would be interesting to try combining walking the labyrinth and chanting with the mala.

This morning I got up early enough to walk the labyrinth again at the time when the moon is setting and the sun is rising. I love that point of balance when both are partially in the sky and the energy is clear and poised for the moment before the change from night to day, from moon dreams to sun awareness.

I downloaded my email last night after breaking my fast in ritual. Sigh… somehow much of my peace seemed to evaporate though there really wasn’t much controversy or problems. Perhaps it is just the words, words, words, and busyness of it all.

Faol called but I was doing Holosync and had 10 min. left. When I called him back he answered and let me know that he had called Joyful but wouldn’t be long. I said, uh, hunh, ok. Then let him know that I would get dressed and exercise but when I was ready to go out to pick up my library books I would just go and do it, and if I wasn’t home when he called, I wasn’t home. I was pretty proud of myself as I didn’t get bent out of shape about his not even waiting 10 min. to talk to me or anything like that. I was ok. As it turned out he really did talk a brief time for a change, and called me before I started my exercises so I was able to talk with him while I did the exercycle, push ups, and abdomen exercises. We had a fairly long conversation, which was nice after not speaking for several days.

Tom and I went into town to pick up my library books and decided to pick up Chinese take out to have later for dinner. When we got home I started working on some of the IRS questions about Sweetwood. My alarm went off for my afternoon workout session so I took a break. While I was doing toe touches though there was pain from my ankle up the inner side of my leg for about 6 inches so that kind of put me off taking a walk with Tom or doing a second shift on the exercycle. I did do my Tai Chi carefully, and my arm stretches, exercises, and abdomen ones though. Then back to the IRS questions. One of them referred to promoting a church as in 509 a 1 but without explanation so I ended up spending something like an hour or so on the IRS site trying to find it. Eventually I did find it and returned to answering the questions. Tom looked over what I had written and after getting a few things from someone on our BoD or Kim to include as explanation I can send it off to the rest of the BoD. But it was stressful somehow and I am a little on edge now.
