It began to snow but we were determined to make it to Phoenix’ house for her party. She had arranged the party because I said that we were going to come and finally see her house and visit. There was a poor attendance though as the snow flurries made it seem like we were having a major winter storm though they actually stopped by midnight when we left and only an inch or so accumulated.
We had a very good time though as it was nice to reconnect with her and Thomas after all this time of not seeing them. Both of them were looking fine. They seem to be sticking to the Atkins, low carb diet and doing well with it.
She led a nice Spring Equinox ritual. As part of the ritual we did a kind of word game that she learned from Iacchus and Delta at the Sweetwood winter retreat, I believe. It involved taking a situation, paradox, or issue and looking at the dark and light side of it. Then we chose two words from each side to put in the little boxes on a piece of paper. The boxes were interconnected to other boxes so that we had to find a word that represented some place in between the words or some reconciliation of the opposites. This was done for the various combinations between the 4 starting words, then continued with the new words until one word was derived. That word we wrote in white crayon on hard-boiled eggs, then placed them in a bowl. When we were all through we charged them up and picked one out of the bowl for coloring after the circle was complete. It turned out that I got my own egg but that was ok with me as I felt that I needed that reconciliation in my life.
Afterward we spent time talking and enjoying the party. Even with so few people there was plenty of food and wine. I think Phoenix and I were the main wine drinkers and I know that I was definitely feeling the effects when we left.
I liked their house. It seemed large enough with the basement room for the
three of them. Phoenix is quite talented in a lot of areas and I very much
enjoyed the dragon on her living room wall. She made it herself out of paper
mache’. It had a very expressive face. There was clear improvement as
well from the first one she had made that was hanging in her bedroom. It will
be interesting to see what else she comes up with.
