I did the dishes, then made tea and breakfast before Faol woke up. He went to Home Depot and I set up the avocado for watering, watered the pyracanthas, and called Tom. Faol got back and we took off to help his friends move. I had not yet met them. We made it to Mel and Phil’s only 15 min. later than we had said we would.
The apartment was on the second floor so I did some up and down stairs taking things to the car to spare Mel the trip as she has arthritis in her knees. She and I talked quite a lot. We went over to the new place taking a small load in her car and stayed there. Mel felt that she was too bossy and was going to be making Phil and Faol annoyed if she stayed there. Instead we unloaded the car, found the closet rods, which had been removed when the apartments was painted and refurbished for the new tenants, then put them up in all the closets, and puttered about. We spent the rest of the time largely talking and getting to know each other. She is the new manager of the building so she also showed the apartment next door. Eventually the pizza showed up, but we didn’t have cups for the soda.
Her knees were bothering her so I did Reiki on them. I don’t know if it helped her knees in the long run but she said that she could feel it all the way to her toes. It is nice to get that kind of feedback. The others finally showed up with Faol’s truck, a van, and a car pulling a trailer. Apparently they decided to load up everything first and bring it all at the same time. Beth and Larry were in the car with the trailer. They seemed like nice people but I really didn’t have much time to speak with them. We worked on getting Faol’s truck emptied first as we had a guest coming and needed to get going. Mel wanted someone to watch the stuff so no one would steal anything while the others ran back and forth carrying her belongings to her new second story apartment. Faol had volunteered me so that I could help without hurting my wrists but I took the opportunity to unload boxes from the truck to the grass for people to pick up. At one point I took a few minutes break to dash up, scarf two little pieces of pizza and a half glass of coke and went back down to finish.
We dashed off once we finished unloading Faol’s truck but could have stayed longer as there was a message from our guest saying he would be late. As it was we spent from 8:45 to 2:30 there. Actually though it worked out well as it gave us time to lay down for an hour’s nap.
Once he arrived we sat and chatted for an hour or so then headed out for
a wonderful sushi dinner at the Frying
Fish. Back home again we chatted more then made a dash to get ready to
go out to a club. It stops admitting people at 11 pm often and because of
traffic it took us way longer than usual to get there but for some reason
it had not closed the doors at the usual time and we had no problems getting
in. The usual crowd was there so we were able to socialize with people we
know and I met more of Faol’s friends from there. We were also able
to introduce our guest. We left about 3 am and stopped at the Brite Spot for
“breakfast”. There is a different crowd that late at night which
was interesting.
