COPAD Meeting

Sunday June 19, 2005

We went to the COPAD meeting in the evening. It was very interesting as Kevin was finally able to do his Native American ceremony. He spoke about some of the history and problems and told us a bit about his adopted nation. Le' who is Navaho or part Navaho, I’m not sure about that, also shared about her nation. Kevin passed a hand rolled cigarette around the circle telling us that not all Native American nations have pipe carriers. Those able to, took a puff for each of the directions. I wasn’t able to smoke quite that much but still did some prayers. Then Mel did her guided visualization. It went quite well. Part of mine involved having wings and flying. It was wonderful. And this time Mel was able to journey with us while she let it, which was a big step for her. We visited afterward for a bit then went home as I was pretty tired.
