My shoulder has been better since Jack Chocolate worked on it, not painless but much less painful. Today I did my warm ups and stretches, pendulum arm swing, drawing the alphabet with the exercise ball, and 15 minutes on the exercycle. Now I am icing my shoulder so that it won’t react to doing the exercises. I don’t know whether it is necessary but it seemed helpful when I did that a couple of days ago. Hopefully I will be able to get back to my abdomen exercises in a few days but as bodies are all interconnected and counter balanced and all that I want to wait until my shoulder is mostly better to add them back in.
My plans for the day involve making Tom chocolate chip cookies and getting a walk this afternoon if it doesn’t actually rain. It is very cloudy and gloomy at the moment so it might not work out. Also the plants need watering. I had hoped to cut fabric for the next drape but am not feeling very motivated to do that since it also involves cleaning off the dining room table, putting in the extra leaves, getting the fabric back out of the closet, and moving about 60 lbs of fabric to lay it out. Tom does help me with it but I am very leery of doing anything right now that might set my shoulder off again. At least it is a good excuse.
So far I have done pretty well on my plans. I made the chocolate chip cookies then Tom and I went out for a walk. It began to drizzle as we neared the end of the driveway but we didn’t worry about it and it remained very light all the way home. We grazed on the blackcaps as we went, stopping from time to time to get a small handful then walking on. I like grazing:)
Shortly after we got home Faol called and we talked for a good long time. Raven has left now and I think he is feeling the empty house. He spent almost the entire time discussing his latest fantasy about building a pontoon boat out of 12ft diameter 70 ft long tanks and you guessed it, shipping crates. It really does sound like it would work. I don’t know whether it is worth doing that way as opposed to some other way but it makes him happy to work out all the details, calculate buoyancy, and load, and how to power it and all of that. His thought is that he could have some kind of business with it, like tours of the Great Lakes, rentals, etc. and live on it after he retires. He likes the idea that he could host a floating Pagan festival as well. And he would be closer to me and to Raven.
I was also doing some fantasizing today. It occurred to me that we could have some community focus here, and create a bed and breakfast area as one of the community businesses by building cabins and a dining room/kitchen area that would be part of the living quarters for whoever was the manager. We have the middle meadow as one potential area for it that would not require major roadwork like the lower meadow would. There is also a turn around area just below the last hill up to our house that has a trail going back into the woods a bit, which might be another site for it. I have a friend who has expressed interest in having a bed and breakfast so it seemed like a natural for her. Of course, I don’t know anything about the zoning needs for that or what it would cost to build or how we would do it. In my fantasy though I was using Faol’s ideas of shipping crates because I really love the idea of making them into little Hobbit Houses. If we ever decided to manifest this as a reality though I would look at whatever method seemed the most reasonable for us under the circumstances of that time.
Other than that I have spent the day doing self-actualization surfing. I found an interesting site www.artella.com, which has a number of creativity things, interesting articles, a couple of free ebooks, inexpensive ecourses, and a magazine to subscribe to which is sent as hard copy one month and electronically the other month. From there I went to another one about using realigning energy to make psychological changes, which had a lot of downloadable articles, energy exercises etc.
Tom and I also decided to subscribe to Netflix for the summer. We are at
this very moment playing with looking for movies to put in our queue so that
they will already know what to send us when we send one back. It is fun but
I hope we cancel it at the end of the summer rather than keep paying the monthly
amount.
