A Bit Down

Tuesday July 5, 2005

I woke up with my left shoulder hurting today. That was depressing since I had thought they were getting better. So I used the heating pad again while meditating. Faol called and while we talked I did dishes and the warm ups, stretches, and arm rehabilitation exercises that are all I am doing right now. Afterward I felt down. We had a nice conversation but my energies were really down and I spiraled into a light depression. For a short time my spirits came up when Larry called and we set up a date to see each other in a couple of weeks. Later Tom suggested that we look at our old tapes and see if there was something that I wanted to watch. I didn’t think there would be but I decided to watch Darby O'Gill and the Little People and that raised my spirits quite a bit.

I read one of my downloaded pieces from yesterday and came across a brief article on organization and self-management that suggested applying the Flylady Control Journal approach to general life management. It sounded interesting. So I spent the afternoon developing one. I am hoping that creating some busyness that also does get something accomplished, even if much of it is the kind of cleaning we don’t normally do, will get me moving again.
