Joyful Arrives

We woke up early and Faol wanted to make love with us both. We had a good time then they went back to sleep and I got up and called Tom, made tea, and had my breakfast drink. I had a little time for email before they got up.

Faol finally tried to book Raven’s flight again but his ATM card is so worn that he can’t see the security numbers on the back anymore so can’t use it online. He asked if I would use my credit card and he will pay me back before I leave. I called Tom and it was fine with him so I booked Raven’s flight. By the time that was done and we all had some time to talk a bit, off he went to work.

Joyful and I rearranged Cherie’s stuff in the little room so she could get set up in it for her stay here though I don’t believe she discussed it with Faol first or got his permission. Then off we went for a major day of shopping. There was food shopping at three different stores as it turned out, getting water, and a stop at a pharmacy. By that time over three hours had passed and we were pooped. After putting everything away we decided to take a break and eat the leftovers for dinner rather than my making dinner right away.

Joyful returned phone calls and had a lovely talk with Aine on speaker phone so I was able to say hi and enjoy the call as well. Finally somewhat recovered I went to make stir-fry for dinner so that Faol would have dinner to take to work tomorrow. I made a big batch of rice so I can do fried rice for dinner on Friday or over the weekend and we can also make rice pudding.

Joyful worked on settling in and unpacking then got right to cleaning off the set of shelves I had asked her to do, and the side of the stove that it was up against. It looks much better now and I feel better knowing that any food splashed down the back is no longer encouraging insects to move in. Friday we are going to clean out the food cabinet and go through it to get rid of anything with moths. That seems to be a recurrent problem here and I can’t seem to convince Faol that purchasing anything in a cardboard container without doing something to deal with moths just means that they have another food source. Doing some extra cleaning in the kitchen was one of the tasks I was hoping we could tackle together. Due to the tendinitis in my wrists/hands I have difficulty doing a lot of cleaning and right now I am having another flare up where my index finger is feeling numb to the touch and otherwise hurting quite a bit. I have had this kind of thing in the past and after several months it seems to recover.

Faol will be home in about 15 minutes and he has a big evening planned for Joyful. I may be participating to a small degree but am not planning on being part of it to a large degree. Mostly I plan on going to bed somewhat early tonight or so I hope.

Tomorrow Joyful and I have a day planned visiting a mutual friend from an Elist that we are both on. It should be fun but probably equally lengthy and tiring a day.
