In the morning Faol and I went to pick up a rental car for our trip tomorrow. I drove the car home. I was a bit nervous doing it as I don't really drive in L.A. but it went find and I think if I had an automatic transmission that was easier to drive (not a big truck with odd rearview mirrors) I would be able to handle it. Joyful and Faol had discussed the accident and determined that she is too intimidated by her concern for his opinion to drive well around him.
We drove to the dump where we picked up a load of free compost. While Joyful and Faol filled the truck and I waited to spell one of them I talked with Tim from L.A. Eco-village, which is an urban intentional community. They have tours. Back home we unloaded and spread the compost in the yard. I spelled Faol with the unloading and Joyful weeded. I developed blisters since I couldn’t fit the gloves over the braces with splints and was sheepishly trying to avoid making them worse at the end.
The yard really stinks now and is drawing flies. Faol wet it down to chase
off the flies. It works for a while. Afterward we decided to take a nap for
an hour but ended up sleeping until the next morning, more or less.
