Seeking a Car

Friday August 26, 2005

I woke with a very sore shoulder and sat with the heating pad early in the morning. I did email. Faol called but was really focused on what he was doing, checking with Mapquest for his trip north, rather than talking with me. Most of the 30 min. call was like that interspersed with him talking with Joyful about getting this or that. Then Joyful talked to me for a few minutes without him. I really didn’t feel very satisfied with the phone conversation. We have decided to try talking every other day again. I need to be able to put some emotional distance between us without changing our visit schedule, and see if I can get over my extreme attachment to him. I am not talking about not loving him, just not being so addicted. I believe that will help to level out my emotional responses to what happens between us, which should be good for both of us

Tom and I went out to seek a new used car since ours is on its last legs. The Internet has made this an interesting search though. Tom has spent quite a bit of time online checking out the inventory of the local used car dealers so we have a list of ones with cars that sound interesting and in our general price range. We decided to go to the dealer with the most 4 wheel/all wheel drive models so that we could look at different makes and see which we liked better. And we have settled on the Honda CRV. We looked at a number of places, test drove one 2001 Honda CRV-LX, and decided we had looked enough for the day.

Back home we ate dinner and watched TV all evening while Tom researched places with Honda-CRVs in particular, and ran blue book numbers to see about what each of the cars with their specific configuration of amenities should cost. One of the dealers had done a search for us so we had the print out of the pages from him with several Hondas for us to see tomorrow for Tom to check out online.
