Drought

Wednesday August 31, 2005

I tried sleeping sitting up all night instead of waiting until I wake up with a headache to sit up but it didn’t really change anything. When I went to bed I had a slight ache and I woke up in the middle of the night again with a headache so took the Ibuprofen and eventually went back to sleep. Once up in the morning I am mostly okay though it is taking an extra couple hours before I am really moving. This is very annoying.

Faol called and we had a short conversation once I reminded him that he had said yesterday after our two-hour talk that today we would keep it short. He seemed like he was in an okay mood.

Tom and I took a walk but forgot our hats sprayed with bug repellent so we had to wave off the clouds of gnats as we walked. Still it was a nice walk and we made it all the way out the driveway before turning around. By next week I hope to be back into walking enough that we can go out on the land rather than just the driveway. Right now having gotten back into doing the exercycle and leg lifts and added leg lifts with ankle weights I am finding my legs a bit sore and tired for the uneven ground of the forest.

As we walked though I notice the signs of drought. More leaves have turned yellow than this time of year warrants and our forsythia bush is wilted. The Irish moss I planted in the rock garden has died. Tom watered it regularly while I was gone but not often enough apparently. Ah well… I will try again next spring.

I spent much of the time today surfing the web starting with a link sent to the WIP list about blogs. So I went from blog to blog through financial ones, etc. It was fun, not very productive but fun.
