Faol wasn’t feeling well. His back was cramping up and at times it was painful enough to make him feel nauseous. I worry about him as he is so often in a great deal of pain. We spent much of the day watching TV, nothing memorable. Finally we took a long nap after arranging to get together with a couple that we know from COPAD. We had discussed going out to eat but by the time we got up and Faol got ready it was later than we had expected. He needed to take another hot bath before we left to get his back moving.
They live quite far out in an area that could almost be considered rural. The driveway was worse than ours, pot holed, large rocks, dirt, and up quite a hill. When we arrived it was a bit chilly. B. was cooking dinner and it was almost ready. She made a kind of East Indian menu with a spicy shrimp main dish, a potato and pea dish reminiscent of Alu Gobi but without the cauliflower, a spinach dish, either a sag or a paneer but I can’t remember which, and rice. There was a mango salsa to accompany it.
We brought Sake, not knowing what we would have for dinner, but it actually complimented the meal rather well with its sweet, fragrant, and delicate flavor. I thought it might be overwhelmed by the, to me, intense spicing of the meal but instead it had a cooling effect. We had a lovely time and were all quite merry.
At one point we had the opportunity to observe and try out the bungee sex swing. It was quite relaxing to sit suspended lightly swinging, turning about. It has a shoulder harness that enables one to invert entirely but I admit I didn’t try it. It costs about $300 though. Faol bought one called a spinning sex swing for $100 and it is just as relaxing to sit in as the bungee one though it doesn’t bounce up and down. And it doesn't have the shoulder straps and head rest that make the more expensive one more comfortable.
We both had a great time and didn’t get home until 5 am.
