I woke somewhat late or so I thought but no one was up and moving much yet. I was able to get in the bathroom for a shower before people got moving. Several of us were basically fasting before visioning but by 11 in the morning I was really hungry so I had about 1/4 of a bagel and that got me through. We spent the morning talking. We did a brief watersharing circle before visioning, which I felt set a good tone for bonding and connecting on an intimate level.
The day passed quickly as we talked about confidential and non-confidential church matters and personal matters, bonded and shared. It was a very interesting experience. I feel that I learned quite a bit about those present, not so much about their past experiences as their characteristic ways of being.
Later in the evening, someone asked for help in healing a rift with another person who was present. They both talked with us as witnesses, not about past difficulties, not in an attempt to validate their point of view or to lay blame, but of the pain they had felt and the need to bring healing, to let go of the past and go forward in wholeness. It was a very touching exchange bringing hope to the future and a renewed connection to those involved. This was the part that I was dreading but it really was all right as Orion had said it would be. Whether the healing is enough to really help them begin again in their relationship and go forward from here with a clean slate, I don't know but it seems to bode well for the future.
