Clergy Retreat Ending

Sunday, November 19, 2000

I packed up and put my bags in the octagon as soon as I got up so that I wouldn't have to think about it but would be able to just leave whenever we were all ready to do so. We had planned to be on the road by 10 am but never discussed which time zone we meant so at 10 EST when we weren't ready to leave we decided that we meant CST. That gave us another hour to visit before we had to leave:)

Aeona made us scrambled eggs for breakfast. We put together a tray for Ronn and a friend, and took it into them so they could have breakfast in bed. They had done the cooking for the weekend and seen to everyone's needs. We wanted to thank them for their kindness. Afterwards we did a check in and spoke of the things we were thankful for during the weekend, raised energy to put into the community web that Aeona had brought with her (which had been out absorbing the good energy all weekend), and shared water once again.

Before we left Orion told me that he supported my postulancy and that meant a great deal to me. One of the other clergy members who knows me is not too sure about my postulancy, which had left me with some very negative feelings about even trying since it only takes one person to block someone from being clergy. Orion's very positive comments gave me the feeling that there was another person rooting for me. My clergy advisor and my close friends are rooting for me as well:) So are some of the CAW members that I have met online and off but I have been worried about the clergy member who in the past has been opposed to my postulancy. Although there has been only a little change in that regard, somehow Orion gave me a sense of being accepted which has gone a long way to relieving my worries.

I am always torn during goodbyes like that. Part of me is already thinking about the long trip and the things I need to do when I get home, and so eager to get going while another part wants to stay and to prolong the experience.

The trip back went fine and passed fairly quickly for me, up until we got to Kris' house. But it was snowing on and off from there to Madison making the trip a little more difficult. Jack did the driving though, so he is the one that had the most stress. And he still had an hour more to drive after he dropped me off. I am glad that we got going so early. I was home early in the evening and had time to be with Tom before sleeping.
