Doing and Doing

The weekend was both busy and not very busy. I spent a large proportion of it doing homework and studying for my midterm, which is later today. I did spend some time on Saturday and Sunday raking the leaves. We rake them into huge piles, then rake them on a tarp and drag them over to a spot behind the barn with a fence that helps keep them from blowing away before we can use them to mulch the paths in the Dearinth. On Sunday I went out before Tom and got started. By the time he came out I had raked enough for nearly two tarp-fulls. I am a proponent of breaking jobs up into pieces, if at all possible, and doing them a bit every day. So we usually go out and do two tarp loads, and then we are done for that day. Right now, of course, is the prime raking time. So far we have just been raking leaves off the driveway. And there are still many more. Friends have also said that they can bring bags of leaves for us. That will help a lot when we work on mulching more of the Dearinth paths.

I feel like I haven't been accomplishing much in the way of my long-range plans this fall. I was disappointed when the Mysteries were cancelled and then didn't have the opportunity to get to know some of the CA CAW members. I feel that part of moving toward Clergy is to try and meet many of the members and let them have an opportunity to get to know me as well. And I haven't made much progress on searching out Grad School information or preparing to take the GRE's, which I need to do this fall. On the other hand I feel that this semester I have been getting more of my side projects moving. I have had a chance to update much of the Midwest CAW web site, continue with my online journal, update the Madison area Pagan Tea & Talk web site, do some updating on the StarSpring Nest web site, work on getting an email option for quarterly reporting for Nests (something that I have almost ready to go), get the Nest to Nest out on a regular, if not entirely on time, basis, have taken on another scion to advise, set up a membership database and the finance program and entered most of the last 9 months worth of records for SweetWood, participate in the Madison celebration of Pagan Pride Day (and take on the job of Local Coordinator for next year's Pagan Pride Day), while also continuing the usual sponsoring of Pagan Tea & Talk, working with the local Scion Council and StarDragon Branch.
