What a busy day for a Sunday! I got up and put in the changes to my flyers, and printed out some of each for Pagan Pride Day. Then Jack got there to do a class assignment with me. He pretended to be a client interested in therapy so that I could do an Intake Interview. I have to write up a 6-12 page paper on it. After that we headed in to Madison for Pagan Pride Day.
It was a gray, chilly day but never quite got to the rainy point. There were about 7 tables from various groups, and 60 some attendees. CAW had a large contingent. Jack had a table for his clergy project, Sweetwood. I set up a section for my nest, StarSpring and put out the flyers for all three local nests. Then I also had a section for the Grok System flyer, which described the local groups and included a calendar for the next three months.
I didn't get a chance to do a flyer for the Madison Area Pagan Tea & Talk but I am planning on doing one soon. And I can use it for letting people know now and for next Pagan Pride Day.
I enjoyed meeting with others and talking to Pagans I hadn't met before. A woman from Water Weavers' ProtoNest had some general Pagan literature, which included an article printout from an old Fireheart magazine that I had written (with another person) on Gardnerianism. The ritual went well. Shel from Circle Sanctuary was Lady Liberty and sang of working for freedom. Then the ritual began and we were smudged and sensed as we entered. Grass seed was used as a focus for seeding community (and reseeding the park grass). Maevele, the local coordinator, did a good job. Then Aeona brought out the CAW community web, which has been to many festivals and spun by the participants. The web has long cords. These can be held to hold the web up as the 18 spinners begin to move in a circle, spinning the web. The rest of the nearly 60 people formed a second circle outside of the web and danced around them generating more energy for the web. We finished with a CAW style watersharing. After the ritual Maevele thanked everyone from coming and let people know that I would be coordinating the event next year. It was a good day.
Afterwards, Tom and I left quickly so that we could go and buy the wood to replace the deck section where the hot tub is going.
