Priestess Training

Monday April 2, 2001

Today I started my Priestess training program. I got up at 6:30 am, had breakfast, and did my exercises. My plan for this morning was to work with guided trance inductions as I had when I first began doing trances, a kind of review. I was a little depressed when I couldn't find the book I wanted to use, and I was still tired from the weekend Midwest Poly Con. Tom was going to find it for me last night but forgot. So I just started with the Celtic Myth course instead. Mostly I just typed in a myth that I want to analyze. I later found it on the web so next time I will do a web search before I bother to type them in. Tom found the book for me after he finally got up. I don't know where it was - I sure couldn't find it. I went outside to tape the induction and sat under our Namesake tree but the wind was so loud that it made an unpleasant white noise hiss on the tape. I sat in the car and that worked a little better. I would have just stayed inside but the washer and dryer were both on; the hot tub can be heard as a low hum when the heater and jet comes on; the fans of the computers provide background noise, and you never know when the phone will ring. I used one of the inductions from the Mind Games book by Masters and Huston followed by one of my own.

Finally I was able to sit down and do a trance. I held the intent to find a guide but I don't think I found one. It was an interesting journey and as part of my program I will be working with the images tomorrow to make them concrete in some creative way. I plan on doing a pastel of it.

After lunch Tom and I went for a walk on our land. We took the camera in the hopes that the spring flowers would be up around the cauldron but they are just starting to sprout green leaves. The spring run off is flowing though making cheerful little burbling noises. There are a few insects, almost no underbrush, and a lot of leaf litter still. It was really nice. As soon as we got back though it was into the hot tub.
