I was feeling a little pressured today since we were expecting friends over again. It is rather strange to have so much social activity, three visits by people in three days! This is one of the days that I work on making my trance images manifest in a physical form. I promised a large snake that I would draw it so worked on that but I couldn't finish it. First I needed to do a web search for snakes in certain poses, then one for lizards with frills so that I could combine the images when I drew them.
Tom went into Mt. Horeb and ran some errands including picking up a couple of books I had on hold at the library. Two of the books that I will be using for my priestess training is Shamanism as a Spiritual Practice for Daily Life by Tom Cowan, and The Pagan Book of Living and Dying by Starhawk.
I finally called to reserve the park shelter for our Pagan Pride celebration in September. Unfortunately, the park we wanted to get doesn't allow PA permits or loud music so drumming is right out. So we are back to checking out the other parks again to find one that will allow the drumming and be available for the date we need it. They suggest that we get back to them by the end of the week though if we want our date.
In the afternoon two of my nestmates came to visit. I wanted to talk with them about some of the things I am learning and re-evaluating in my life. One of these is my interest in doing a traditionally oriented coven. This is something I miss - not having a coven. While I like our nest and don't want to leave it I would like to also do a coven. I am not sure that I have the time for it yet I do get fed from that kind of work.
