Another Beautiful Day

Tuesday April 24, 2001

Today is another beautiful day out and I decided to go work on mowing more of the Dearinth so I did a short trance (to make up for none yesterday) and did an exercise from Applied Visualization by Page. Then I went out to mow. The neighbor's pups were out and didn't seem put off by the noise from the mower. Tom said they would get bored and leave me alone shortly. He was wrong. They followed me, ran around me, plopped down in the path ahead of me, and had to be told no and yelled at to get them to move out of the way. Then they took off running around and around crossing the paths and knocking over the weed stems that are currently acting as the walls of the labyrinth. I got fed up. So I walked them home and knocked on the neighbor's door. There were two cars in the drive so I knew they were home. Eventually a squinty eyed, half dressed man appeared and called them in. Finally I could actually get to work. After that it went well and I wasn't too too tired after doing another ¼ so decided to try and come out again later after lunch and do more.

First I went in and read Crafted Cup and Shamanism, which seem to be the courses I am doing at the moment. I had intended to work on Celtic Myths but haven't been doing it lately.

My nestmates all got back to me on fronting the money for Pagan Pride shelter reservation so I was able to send that out. Finally that much is settled and done.

The Goddess half of the Dearinth was all mowed so I started on the God half. Now it is ¾ done. I also broadcast some yellow bird's trefoil seed in the body of the God. I hope it sprouts and takes off without digging up the sod and preparing the soil. It is a legume and ground cover that gets little yellow flowers. I am hoping that it will grow and spread so that the paths will not require as much maintenance.

This time when I came in I was really tired. We went right into the hot tub. Tom is still working on the design for the enclosure. It looked like we were on to something with the polycarbonate panels from Sundance Supply but they are not very clear. The ribs inside give a kind of shower glass look to it distorting what can be seen. We really like to be able to see everything around us and we also don't want to block the view from the house. The studs in the walls will already affect the view more that we like. So we are back to thinking about using rigid transparent acrylic panels. Back to the drawing board.
