Early Wake-up

Tuesday August 14, 2001

The phone rang at 5:15. Tom answered it and I could hear the beep of a modem or fax machine. He hung up. Two minutes later it rang again. He picked it up but it was the same thing. Two minutes later it rang again and we let the answering machine get it and it was the same thing again. It was very annoying. Since that is so close to the time I usually wake up though, I am awake. So there wasn't much point in staying in bed.

Yesterday I finished reading the Bottoming Book by Dossie Easton & Catherine Liszt. I found it very interesting and got a clearer picture of how some people feel but I really don't quite get it. I think it is important to, though, for a number of reasons. One is that as a clergy postulant I have constituency in my church who practice BDSM and I want to understand it for counseling purposes with a positive frame of mind to honor their truths. And I have personal reasons of my own for looking into it somewhat, too. But it is a complex subject.

Tom cleaned off the berry juice and parts from my tent for me. Then we left it set up in the yard all afternoon but when we went to put it away last night clouds of mosquitoes were coming after me. So we just grabbed the tent and took it into the house to fold then discovered the inside was still wet so we have it draped over chairs to finish drying. Hopefully I can fold it up this morning and put it away. It always takes me about a week to get things unpacked, put away, washed, etc. after a camping trip. Maybe I will actually try and focus today and get it done. Hmmm, probably not:)

One of the things I need to do today is work on Pagan Pride organizing stuff, sent out a bunch of emails, and start working on Nest to Nest as well.

I just read a wonderful little story on Aikido and violence, which you can read here at In Context. Thanks to Silverwheel from the Internest for posting it.
