We had a nice day. Dinner was fine and Corey got his father chocolate and me a DeLint book, The Onion Girl (a hardback!). He does know us well. Tom also got virtual chocolate - a t-shirt and mouse pad with images of chocolates on them and "I'm a card carrying chocoholic" on the front and "The Chocoholic 12 step program: Never be more than 12 steps away from chocolate" on the back. I also got books from a friend and Tom got actual chocolate. We usually figure we had a good haul if I get books and he gets chocolate :)
I felt good this morning. While I exercised I thought about my clergy challenge ritual and after meditating, actually sat down and blocked out the ritual from beginning to end. I like it. Tom liked it. Now I just have to get people to take on the roles. I have 9 Deity roles, a Priest and Priestess, someone to asperge the circle, and several someones to asperge and cense people as they enter the circle. I really like involving a lot of people in the ritual. When I write the roles, I just write the basic idea that they are presenting. After that it is up to the person carrying the energy to decide what they want to say, how they are going to say it, and ideally that comes from the Deity they aspect. I don't see my priestessing as being the one who gets to do everything. I see it more as an energy link holding all the parts together, or providing the environment/ womb that encourages the magick to happen. I am really glad that I got this worked out today. Having promised Candy at Yule that I would be able to send her the ritual and what I needed her to do in the aspect of Eris by January 31st and no later, I had better get it done on time.
Then at noon I started my three-day Full Moon juice fast. I am doing it a little early to be done by the time our guests come on Sunday. Of course, this is a poor time to do it, in that we have all the Xmas leftovers here. We will send some home with Corey and freeze some but Tom is sitting next to me right now eating sweet potatoes, turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Sigh… And this is only the first half day of the fast.
