The Grok Healing Group was a lot of fun. This was the start or our chakra series so we started with the root chakra. We did a grounding meditation, which I read out of Anodea Judith's book, Wheels of Life. Then we did a variety of physical exercises to open and energize the first chakra. We did the Elephant, belly dancing exercises like hip circles and pelvic thrusts, and ended the physical part with the corpse pose. Next was the energy work where we focused on breathing into the chakra, felt the energy expand and grow, and visualized that energy healing and charging it. We also worked with a partner to energize and heal each other's chakra. We finished the work with grounding through eating proteins. People had brought hazelnuts and pistachios, cheese, peanut butter, and beans.
Our ritual was quite lovely. We did a Bridget's Well of Healing ritual. Phoenix brought beautiful red roses full of passion for the altar. She filked a baptism song and we used it to invoke the Well of Healing. The words are:
The sisters verse is replaced with brothers, fathers, mothers, and finally, children.
Once the Well was invoked we each took a turn in the Well by standing in the center while the others toned and washed our auras with it's energy. Then Phoenix sprinkled us with rose petals and gave us a small gift. She gave me a charming necklace of a faery with red sparkly wings. We also did some work on her dog. He attended circle and laid down quietly through the entire ritual.
After the energy working we did a faerie journey. My journey had parts where I was swirling around, dancing around a huge room in the mound. Someone I have had problems with was there and I asked her why but she turned her back and was gone without a word. Then I saw a full-length mirror and looked at my reflection. I reached out to touch it and my hand went through. I merged and went on past changing places. Inside the mirror I found a silver shining path leading into the darkness and the stars. But I was facilitating so I had to keep track of time and bring the others back. I couldn't follow the path. Hopefully, I will get time to meditate on it another time. After the watersharing we closed and had a great potluck feast: cold roast chicken, spinach casserole, pea salad, bean casserole, noodle broccoli dish, wonderful fruit salad, quiche, shortbread cookies, and white wine.
We had our guests park out at the end of the hill and we ferried them in because of the slippery drive. Tom drove one person out when they were ready to leave. He told her to be careful because it was very slippery but as soon as she got out of the car she fell and slid down the hill, saying she couldn't stop. Tom went to rescue her and did a belly flop and slid down after her. Both of them managed to roll into a snow bank which stopped them. They were both ok.
The rest of us went into the hot tub.
