Whew!!!

Well the day finally arrived. I couldn't really put it off and have time to get the results to the graduate department in time for their deadline. I took my Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Tom and I got up at 5:30 am, in order to get ready and drive the hour into Madison in time. There were a handful of people filling out forms when I got there. The woman took us in one by one, got us signed in, a locker for our belongings, and set up on a computer. I had no sense of how well I did and was unsure of the answers quite often. But since I had taken a pretest before I studied for it, after I had studied for several weeks, and two days before with consistent results I wasn't all that hopeful. My math and analytic scores were low on all the pretests and below the range recommended by the grad program I am interested in although they say there is no real cutoff.

I had asked the Internest (a CAW online nest) for energy to do my best and many people sent me good luck emails telling me they were sending me energy. When I saw my scores I was once again reminded that magic works! I scored 100 points higher than I had consistently scored on the pretest in math and 250 points higher on analytic. Whew!!! That put me into the acceptable range and keeps me in the running for a place in the Counseling Psychology program. Now I just have to write the statement of purpose for the application:(
