Ritual Prep

I was busy all day today trying to get ready for our ritual tomorrow: housecleaning, rewriting our Imbolc ritual, checking out the material that I wanted to do for the Grok Healing-focus group. I decided to rewrite the Imbolc ritual mostly because I didn't have enough candles to give to all participants to use as a focus for meditations during ritual. And I felt like doing something different than looking inward. We were already planning on doing some sharing of our creative endeavors so I decided to add a purification of the house and each other. This festival is associated with the idea of spring cleaning, perhaps due to one of the various associations related to the Goddess giving birth at Yule, which makes this festival the end of her after delivery bleeding period. There were often purifications related to blood because of the powerful symbolism and energy associated with its release. For some reason this year I haven't been hit with the spring-cleaning bug yet. It usually comes first during the late January/early February thaw that we have here in mid-Wisconsin.

We are beginning a series on chakras tomorrow. It should be a lot of fun. Phoenix said that she has lots of belly dancing exercises to show us that are related to the chakras. With all the work today, I am pooped.
