Starwood: A New Love?

Friday July 20, 2001

After breakfast I headed off to the Shaman workshop, Part 3. It turned out that Part 2 had happened and I missed it. But I enjoyed this one anyway. We did a trance journey to the shaman's lodge. At first we explored the middle world. The crow man from one of my journeys in our circles came and we flew for a time. Then the entire group linked up and became a large serpent that traveled down the trunk of the tree to a large cavern below. The facilitator had asked one person to be the head and another the tail. We carried gifts to give to Grandfather who was there. And from there we went out to explore the underworld. I went what seemed a long way and I saw my Great Grandmother, and my Grandmother, too, both of whom are dead. I don't remember what was said, just the sense that they were with me, that they were my strength to call on. We returned in the way we had gone down. I felt it was very insightful and I would have liked more opportunity to explore. If he offers them again somewhere that I'm at I will be sure to attend.

In the afternoon I went to Oberon's workshop, "Path of the Dearinth". He has a great deal of knowledge. It was interesting but one of the participants kept diverting the topic to early Christianity. I didn't care for that. After a time, Oberon suggested that they drop it as it was an entirely different workshop and we had come for the Dearinth one. I would have liked to get into the aspects of actually walking the paths, the twists and turns, how it feels more.

The CAW watersharing was scheduled for dinner time but we all went down to the swimming pool and prepared to enjoy the special watersharing. There was a lovely ritual with elemental calling. Aeona and Oberon facilitated and invoked Amphitrite and Posiedon. Then we began to walk in the pool to start the water moving. I had already gotten near someone who would help me avoid being swept away. Morgan was very sweet about it. We moved faster and faster until the water was moving fast enough to sweep us up and move us. It is a lot of fun as well as a powerful example of the magick and power of water. Then we passed the cup. After the watersharing some people began to say amoeba, amoeba so I got out quickly. I find those rather dangerous for short people. I don't like the feeling of being crushed.

Later the redheaded man that I had met previously came up and told me he would like to talk with me. I felt shy about it and a little awkward but I wanted to spend time with him. After a bit we went to my tent to talk. He sat on the floor while I sat on the bed and we talked for quite a long time. The attraction was very strong and the energy flowed between us so powerfully (at least for me) that I found myself entirely focused on him. He totally bowled me over as it were. And I was happy that he spent the night, although I had not been planning to when we first went back to my tent. The other amazing thing is that we were able to sleep comfortably together. He was totally zonked out while I had a lot of trouble going to sleep with the drums and the energy that they raise. I am often uncomfortable sleeping with a lover - I feel odd about turning over or moving as I don't want to wake up the person I am sleeping with. We rarely fit together, usually have different sleeping positions or whatever. I have trouble sleeping even with long-time lovers sometimes. But I felt comfortable moving when I needed to, curling up against him, or sprawling over him.
