Home Again!

Wednesday June 13, 2001

I woke up relatively early and drank my juice, then got up and dressed. I packed up my toothbrush, books, journal, and phone, sprayed to keep away the mosquitoes on the way back, picked up my campstool and headed home. It seemed to me to be a good idea to take the campstool with as I walked back. And since I had to rest about 5-7 times on the 10 minute walk home it proved to be an excellent idea. When I got to the house I was out of breath and very light headed. Tom started a pot for my soft-boiled egg. It was very good.

Afterwards Tom put the campstool in the shower. He got into the shower with me and washed me while I sat there. He washed and crème rinsed my hair too. He found a tick on me and I found two ticks on him. Afterwards we completely checked each other out for ticks. Surprisingly to me, he didn't find any in my hair. Then we went to bed to say hi:) It was a wonderful homecoming.

Later I had a half bowl of ramen and my stomach burned for a while and was very gassy. Just before making dinner Tom went out to get my stuff. I tried to get him to go with me earlier in the afternoon but he said he was feeling dragged out. So was I and didn't want to go to decamp without him. But my stomach was hurting so he went by himself and I drank peppermint extract, which has helped my stomach in the past when it burned like this. When he got home my stomach was a little better. He asked me if I was feeling better and could help him so of course I said yes as I figured he was doing me a favor. But when I got out to the car he was really bitchy and spoke nastily to me. He wanted to know why I didn't tell him that the sleeping bags were dripping wet and so were the other things in the tent. It wasn't that wet though they did smell. And the paper bags the juice bottles were in had gotten wet on the bottom and were falling apart. He asked me whatever had possessed me to take them in bags but since he had told me I might as well take them in the bags we had brought them home in I felt unfairly accused. He was very angry and I felt attacked.

I had soft-boiled eggs and toast for dinner as my stomach had settled down but after I ate again it got bad. It bothered me all evening and I prepared to sit up to sleep as laying down just made it worse. I just couldn't sleep so got up about midnight and went and did email.
