Only 6 of us showed up at the Pagan Pride meeting last night and we discussed a number of matters. I have a page of little notes, boxes, arrows, people to email, etc. A post is being sent to the WIP list and one to Harmony Tribe list, both WI Pagan email lists to see if there is actually any interest in paying for vending or not. With the cost of a special events permit, insurance, and vending permit we would have to have at least 17 vendors at $20 each to break even. I don't think with an expected turn out of about 100 that we can get that many vendors. I wonder why a town like Madison doesn't have a larger turn out. Probably we need a media type person to get together advertising and put it out more. I had a number of emails to send out related to this and still have more.
I called Kira this morning so that we could talk about the issues surrounding the appeal that we are hearing as part of an appeals committee. It was very nice to be able to talk with her, and to find out that we were basically on the same page in regards to the appeal. We both want to be fair to all concerned and to do what we think is best in the situation. We also have an appointment tonight to meet with Aeona online, who is our third member of the committee. From the emails we have exchanged about this we all appear to be moving in the same direction.
This morning I made strawberry banana quick bread in my bread machine. That was fun. Then I took the stem and sepals off the strawberries and froze one of the 10 lb flats. That wasn't so much fun. I sat on a step stool at the sink and spent a couple of hours doing it. By the time I was done my fingers hurt, my wrists hurt, etc. but I know that we will enjoy the foods and jams I can make with them. I also cut up a large bowl of them for breakfasts.
I bought a sourdough bread mix to make for taking with to the festival so made that after the banana bread was done. It is so nice to be able to do this.
Packing for Freedom Fest was the other major chore I had to do today. I did it in between working on the strawberries, as a break. It allowed me to get up and move around, stretch, etc. but still get something done. I have this tendency to get a lot done in one day or almost nothing done. It would be nice if I could even things out more and get a medium amount of things done each day.
