Today I had the rest of my clergy questioning. I was asked some hypothetical questions that seemed to me to be designed to provide a look at my attitudes and beliefs, my experience, my approach to being clergy, and also provided me with some interesting insights about myself. (One minor one -- I was not terribly nervous about this process though I was concerned about doing well enough to be accepted. So I did feel a certain level of tension but when someone asked about my land and I began to talk a bit about that I became relaxed and comfortable, a little energized and quite happy. I know that it is important to me but this showed me another aspect of that.) I was also asked about my background and counseling experience. This was not a brief or perfunctory questioning -- neither was it hostile or hot seating in any way. I felt quite good about the process.
Afterwards we did some oracular work to get in touch with the spirit of the church. LaSara was the focus and acted as the voice but others spoke as well. It was a very interesting working. It turned out to be quite magickal and very unifying for the clergy. Some members of the clergy had come to this retreat intending to step back from active involvement. But the incredible way everyone was able to pull together, the magick, encouraged everyone.
Jack, Kris, and I left later in the evening. We went into San Francisco and stayed at a hotel near the airport so we could leave early in the morning. Kris bought us dinner then we turned in.
