We took back the rental car and got the shuttle to the airport. Kris got off at her airline and we went on to ours. There was a long line at the airport checking in but we managed to make the flight. On the way back I watched the movie Red Planet. It was quite entertaining although it wasn't a very good movie. Our flight was delayed landing at Chicago, apparently some runway had a hole in it and had to be repaired. We got in about half an hour late and ran across O'Hare to catch our flight to Madison. At first we couldn't even find the gate that it was leaving from but when we did it turned out to be delayed too so after running to catch it we spent 15-20 minutes waiting.
But we didn't get in to Madison very late. Tom was waiting. He was dressed in casual clothes, jeans. I had expected him to be dressed up to work onsite. When I asked him it turned out that he had indeed gone in to work but that they didn't have a place for him so they suggested he work from home. He was pretty happy about that. So was I!
When we got home I got a call from a man named Raven who had been kind of stranded in Madison. He told me that he was a CAW person from LA and was taking a bus out the next day. He didn't have enough money for food on the way home so I called CAW members in Madison and lined up some money to tide him over on the way home. I hope he made it as I haven't heard from him since. He was quite ill so I am a little worried about him. We did consider the possibility that it was some kind of small scam but none of us gave him a lot of money so I would rather have taken the chance and helped him than have been too suspicious and have it turn out to that he was really in need.
