3 Days and Counting

Sunday May 27, 2001

Today we needed to get out and continue working on our list of things to get done for BelSummer. While Tom continued the mowing I started digging the new fire pit. The song birds serenaded me as I worked. What an incredible sound! I just had to give thanks to the Gods, to the Earth for the pleasure.

I got as far as I could without getting the rocks out of the old fire pit (they are too heavy for me to move) and then went in for lunch. After lunch Tom came out and moved the rocks out so I could fill in the old fire pit with the dirt from the new one. While I worked on the pit he went to move some old fence so we could open up another section in the back to drive through with people's gear. When I finished the fire pit I went to help him with another section of fence. We pulled 6 fence posts and put them in the barn.

Two of our nestmates dropped by for a visit. We haven't seen a lot of them since they got back to the state as they have been having a lot of Dr. appointments. I hope that they find out what is wrong and get it healed soon. It was nice to see them and we spent a lot of time catching up, both in and out of the hot tub.

There is only three more days til BelSummer and we still have a lot left to do to get ready. Considering that we barely broke even last year it seems like we put a lot of energy into this. If everyone has a good time though it makes it worth it.
