Much Accomplished

Tuesday December 24, 2002

The second day of my new routine and I have managed to mostly keep it up. I had hoped to walk in the labyrinth again today but got caught up trying to get to the top of my desk. In fact, although yesterday I only got one corner cleared off, today I made it to the wood and was able to wash it off. I also now have a foot high pile of cross-stacked papers that need to be filed but that is much better than it was. And I made some space on the book shelf next to it so that I can put at least some of the several stacks of books that sit on the floor next to the sofa in the living room (because I am in the process of reading a number of them, or because they are next in line), away yet still easily found and accessible. That will get done today as well so that I will actually be able to see some improvement in the clutter. It is rather strange to me but when I used a pendulum to see whether my unconscious thought working on such things as exercise/health, self-confidence, making money or cleaning clutter and getting rid of things was more important to focus on, the answer was cleaning. Sigh…

Right at the moment though I have the dining room table partially covered with my piles. I stopped for lunch and got caught up chatting on yahoo with Lablua, my oldest son. But he is off to see LOTR2 so there goes my excuse for stopping for a while and I do really want to get the table cleared off so I actually make progress rather than just move the clutter around.

I and we got a lot done today. We decided to move the sewing table out of the bedroom into the spare room and move the clutter under the table there as well. I took three stacks of paper and stuff off the sewing table and put it temporarily on my cleaned off desk :( Then we also moved a two-drawer file cabinet from next to the bed to where the altar was. The altar went under the window where the sewing table used to be and the piles went from my desk to the top of the file cabinet. It really does look better than it did and is not as cluttered. Of course, now I have to find time next week to take care of the clutter that moved with the sewing machine and go through the piles on the file cabinet so they can either be filed or thrown away. Anyway I feel very good about getting so much done today even though I skipped my afternoon walk to finish it.

The last few days I have been working to catch up on my journal entries and have managed to code and upload December. I am essentially caught up with the month. Now I can go back to July and code and upload all the entries between then and November. Next week I am going to start learning how to use Dreamweaver for this and will be changing the look for the New Year.

Now, however I am really really tired.
