Saturday was Imbolc and our nest got together for ritual. Apparently there was some confusion as to what time they had decided on as one nest member showed up at 2 pm while another couple came after 5 pm. It worked out alright though. We had time to spend getting caught up with the one person then, and the other two stayed later and we could get caught up with them then. A couple of our nest members went to "Kites on Ice" in Madison instead.
The ritual was very nice, if a tad disorganized, but since I didn't have to be responsible for any of the organizing, I didn't mind at all. We all trooped out to take the milk, honey, and whiskey, and bread and butter to the Gentle Folk. Some ran around the tree three times in the snow :) The potluck was nice as usual and a good time was had by all, I do believe. Late in the evening I called F. because I hadn't heard from him since I left on Thursday. It turns out his long distance service is having some kind of problem and he hasn't had any since I left. So I will be calling him for awhile til he can get another service. Unfortunately we don't have the same kind of unlimited service so I won't be talking to him as much as usual. And I already miss him.
Sunday, Tom and I went into Madison and ran around looking for exercycles. We finally settled on one that was in the price range I had hoped to find -- less would have been better but more was right out. It has a heart beat monitor, shows the time spent exercising, odometer, and speedometer. I tried it for 10 minutes in the store to make sure the seat didn't put my butt to sleep as our previous one did. I really don't understand why they build the seats the way they do with an extra padded section that pushes on the crotch and anal areas. It is not very comfortable but at least for that length of time, nothing went to sleep, so we got it. I am hoping to get some more aerobic exercise and get in better shape with more stamina.
By the time we got home yesterday I wasn't feeling very well. By last night I knew that I had really succumbed to the cold that F. had. Today I am feeling pretty lousy. I hope that none of my nest mates picked this up from me.
I did manage to finally finish putting Nest to Nest together and to print out a copy for Tom to edit. I emailed my clergy challenge ritual to several people who said they might be willing to take a role in it, caught up with all the Internest email, wrote in my journal, and got three days coded and uploaded to my online journal.
