Both F. and Jack called today. That was very nice. Jack and I had a nice conversation. I enjoyed the contact and we also spoke last weekend or the beginning of the week so it was doubly nice to hear from him so soon.
Tom didn't feel so well today. He was glad that our fast was over at lunchtime. We broke our fast with my favorite, soft-boiled eggs and toast. A couple hours later we had a bit more to eat. But Tom has been unfocused all day. Eating didn't seem to improve that. I had a period when I was feeling a bit strange but that was after spending 45 min exercising. Otherwise I have had lots of energy and felt quite good during this fast.
I really haven't gotten a lot done today but I did get one thing done. I finally got the StarSpring Nest yearly financial report done. We pay our next year's filing fees in advance so that we can file one report at year's end instead of quarterly throughout the year. However, when I sat down to do it I didn't have all the info so I ended up digging through several different piles of papers, first in the dining room then in the bedroom. One good thing is that while I did it I threw a way a stack of papers, organized another stack, and filed some others. Then I found the StarSpring bank statements I was looking for and went back to working on the financial statements. Since I have been rather occupied the last 6 months with traveling back and forth, etc. things weren't very organized but I was, eventually, able to recreate all the info and everything balanced. Then I started on the quarterly nest reports. I was behind by most of the year on those. Luckily the info on those didn't change much, contact info, nest members, activities, etc. It ended up taking all afternoon to do, anyway.
Then I updated the electronic quarterly nest report form so I can email it to the nests. Tom got the list of the email addresses for each nest from the database in a form I could use as a distribution list in my email program. And I emailed a couple of nests or individuals that I knew were in particular nests, in an attempt to update some of the information, like are they still active, what is the contact email address for the nest, etc.
And now that we are eating again I cooked dinner. We had about a 1/2 cup rice and half of a salmon filet a piece. I felt pretty full afterwards. If I could continue to eat that amount I would probably lose weight. There is a whole calorie-restriction diet for prolonging life based on the idea that areas in which people have lived to be quite well over 100 usually eat something like 2/3 of the calories we normally think are necessary. However, I am sure by next week I will be back to my usual diet amounts. I am just not into denying myself pleasure ;)
