Starwood Here We Come

Monday July 22, 2002

I woke up with a headache today but needed to be ok for driving to M's house on the way to Starwood. F. called and did trancework with me. It was pretty effective for being done over the phone while I was in the bathroom. I got very deep and relaxed and the headache eased off quite a bit. What usually happens when he does work on my head is that it goes away right then but comes back to some lessened degree later (reminds me of the rebound effect of some migraine medications) but at a level I can deal with. I felt very good and energized after the trancework. He also told me to pull myself together and drive safely. I told him that I was good at pulling myself out of trance and back to the mundane world. Then when we left I backed up and over a boulder that is on the side of the driveway. My reaction time is somewhat slow so that I was already pretty much over it before I could stop and deal with it. Luckily it didn't rip out anything important though it appears to have dented the bottom of the car slightly. Not a good beginning to our trip so I used it as a magickal focus that it would be all the mechanical difficulty, etc. for the trip.

The trip was 8 hrs and we encountered the favorite of summer travel, construction. It was stop and go for quite a while. I did notice something interesting I haven't really noticed before though. There was a purple semi that hung back in the right hand lane when we were supposed to move into the left lane preventing people from staying there and zooming past all the rest of us to cut in closer to the sign. I was very grateful to him. By doing that he regulated the traffic flow in a way that probably did decrease the time spent waiting for us all to finally be in one lane. And that is often the worst part of the construction zone. Later I saw other trucks doing similar things and I realized I had probably seen it before but never understood what they were doing. The motive may be that they are just as annoyed with the people who zoom past to try and gain a few car lengths ahead of everyone else as I am but at least with the truck they can do something about it.

We got in later than we had hoped for but some of our friends were there to see us anyway and we got to visit with them. Then F. called and I got to talk with him again.
