We did the oracle rite at the cauldron site in the morning. My nestmate's children and grandchild attended the rite as well as some regulars. It was very nice though I didn't get as intense a connection to the scrying as I did last year. Hopefully next year I can get someone else to organize it. I like the different flavor that having another person lead brings. The May Prince and Princess from Spiritweaver's Beltane this year attended. It was good to see them again. Joyful brought a new deck of cards, which she passed around the circle along with decks from two others. We each drew a card as the decks went past and got a look at aspects of our future.
I didn't attend the Cave rite as I expected to be leaving for the airport soon. But as it worked out I was there to greet people as they arrived and had time to sit quietly and work on the 4th piece in my pastel series. It really turned out quite good, I think. And I am pleased with it. I can't wait til the 3rd piece is done and I can get them matted and hung together.
M. got back from the cave rite and we prepared to head out and pick up F. at the airport. Joyful came with us. I knew that he would be delighted to be greeted by all three of us. The only thing that would have made him happier would be if R. could have come too but there really wasn't room in the car for that. And I believe she was writing then.
We got to the airport with enough time to go into the cafeteria and have a bite to eat. Joyful gave me a little gift for doing my clergy ritual - that was very sweet of her. They are Goddess cards, each card has an affirmation on it. One can pick a card and then use it for the day with the idea that this is what one needs to work on today, or go through and pick what one wants to work on. And I imagine that there are many other ways to use them as well. I spotted F. as he went by and dashed over to him. He kissed me quite thoroughly then held out an open arm for M. while still holding on to me. Then Joyful came and joined the hug. What fun! I'm not sure what people going by thought of all the kissing and holding he got from the three of us but it was fun for us.
We went shopping for a tent fly since it looked like it might rain and M. had been unable to find the fly that went with her tent. It turned out to be more expensive than the tent so she didn't get it. We stopped at Home Depot for rope for the labyrinth ritual. Then when we came out we had a flat tire. F. put on the emergency spare, which looks more like a baby tire, and went home. She would have to get it repaired or get a new one before she leaves - she preferred to get new ones as she needed them anyway.
